From 16 to 28 January, the Netherlands' biggest pub is open again in Ahoy. The Vrienden van Amstel Live is sold out again and all sides will be decked out to make it an unforgettable edition. The Dallas Cowboys Selfie Mirror in America went viral last year with a permanent photo-booth where fans can have their picture taken with their favourite player. As a leader in innovative entertainment concepts, Interactive Concept has translated this idea into a mobile concept suitable for any large event where everything is about a wow factor. Using augmented reality, it is possible to go on stage with a digital version of a person and even interact with it! For Vrienden van Amstel Live, seven acts were chosen with which to take a picture. The artists Kraantje Pappie, Maan, Snelle, Nick & Simon, Chef`Special, André Hazes and Thomas Acda have all been immortalised in the Vrienden van Amstel Live Selfie Mirror. To make this possible, a number of unique animations were recorded with each artist in front of a green screen. Consider, for example, the interactive home screen where the artists encourage guests to choose them for a photo. As soon as the guest chooses an artist, they come walking into the screen and assume an interactive pose that the guest can respond to. This makes it seem as if the artist is really in front of the camera together with the guest! Of course, the photo is also framed with, in the case of VVAL 2020, the Amstel Beer, VVAL 2020 and Tribe logo as branding, so that this is also permanently remembered by all guests.
This unique concept will be on display for 12 days in the Backstage Area of VVAL 2020 where artists, family, friends and other invitees can take photos with their heroes. At the time of writing, the Selfie Mirror is already an unprecedented success and even the artists cannot resist taking a picture with their digital selves.
